It was close to the ocean, but construction prevented any pleasant walks. The staff were rude and unkind, and there were countless ants in the room, bed, and bathroom; after the “cleaning” they didn’t even change the sheets, and we were bitten at night—maybe they were bed bugs.

The property sits right on the shore with an ocean view. The bathroom is a “nature” retreat, complete with a bathtub (other hotels only offer showers), which was a pure delight! The pool also boasts an ocean view. The staff are outstanding—attentive and responsive—and I can’t find words to express my gratitude. You can even order a coconut straight from the palm! Internet was very reliable this year. The only downside was that the hot water ran for less than five minutes, so I could only fill about a third of the tub before it turned cold.

The décor, garden, and location are great. The small restaurant at the beginning of the street serves superb food. Unfortunately, part of the beach has disappeared because of a newly built dam.

Breakfast was excellent, the views were breathtaking, and the snorkeling spot was right off the front of the property.
