“By Far the Dirtiest Hotel”

Checking out, the room was filthy: the water wasn’t hot, the bar area sink leaked onto the tile floor and ran into the separate bathroom, dust covered everything, bedding smelled like wet dogs, the AC unit had a dirty dusty cloth blocking the vent, dust on both sides of the unit, half‑eaten Cheetos between the nightstand and bed, the armchair smelled disgusting like old vomit. The jacuzzi had mildew around the jets and the frame wasn’t even caulked; the wall by the hot tub showed obvious water damage and the tub faucet never got hot, just warm. Dust was caked on top of the refrigerator, on the curtains, on the towel bars in the bathroom, and on all three lamp shades. The bedside lamps had only one bulb instead of two, and the tall free‑standing lamp had no bulb at all. Exposed wires hung from an old telephone jack. By far the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever been in.

Check‑in went smoothly, but the room was gross.

“Do not stay here. EVER. Stay under a bridge before you choose this place.”

It was absolutely horrible: there were boards over the doors on the way to our room, the bedding was filthy, the couch had stains, there was no shower curtain, no lampshade, and the light switches were hanging off the wall.
