Ocean Sands Hotel & Spa, on Main Street in Enniscrone, overlooks the Atlantic Ocean from a hilltop location. The hotel offers spectacular views of Killala Bay, Enniscrone Pier, and the Valley of Diamonds. A 5-minute walk brings guests to the championship Enniscrone golf links. Nearby amenities include Waterpoint water park and a health suite, with several golf courses and beaches nearby.

The staff were very friendly and the location is great. The food was just okay.

We came mainly for the Thermal Spa and Seaweed baths, and Anna’s service did not let us down. We were traveling by bus, and it was just a short walk to the stop even on a rainy day. The beach was not easily accessible, though.

Both the location and the food were lovely. The bedroom was on the ground floor of a building separate from the main structure, and it was extremely hot; the window could open fully outward, but as a senior solo traveller I couldn’t open it for safety reasons.

The room was huge and beautiful, and the reception and spa staff were lovely. I had dinner at the restaurant and ordered a chicken burger; the bun tasted old and stale, but I ate it anyway. The breakfast buffet was chaotic—when I arrived, I was told to sit anywhere, and later guests were told the same, yet there were no clean tables ready. They had to sit at tables with dirty dishes and chase staff for clean cutlery and cups.
