“Bisogna essere più chiari”
The apartment was clean. It wasn’t mentioned that the room was inside a house where the owners, an elderly couple, lived. There was a bathroom in the room as requested, but it only had a toilet and a sink; to shower or use the bidet you had to go through the living room where the couple were seated on the sofa watching TV late into the night.

I loved the location—great access to metro and bus. The cleaning was very lacking. The host smokes and keeps incense burning to mask cigarette smell. The room’s “lavabo” doubles as a laundry area and has no shower. A shared shower is in the apartment you must walk through to reach; it oscillates between cold and hot water, mostly cold. During my stay I couldn’t shower in the mornings for two consecutive days because another guest was using the bathroom and never left. In short, I enjoyed Rome but won’t stay here again or recommend it.
They opened the doors of their home for me, the lady tried hard to understand my Spanish and offered a fridge, hot water or if they had to heat food outside of the agreement. A love, I would go again.

In case of technical problems, such as missing mobile internet and/or phone, there is – unlike hotels – only a small chance for a smooth check‑in or finding the right accommodation.
