The house sits prettily on a ridge overlooking the Weser hills, and the owner cooks delicious meals while asking about preferences at breakfast. The rooms feature window screens, decent mattresses, and newly renovated showers, though the Wi‑Fi isn’t suitable for business use and didn’t work for us.

We trekked the Hansaweg from Herford to Hameln. Hotel Waldquelle sits directly on the trail and offers hikers everything they want after a tour: quiet rooms, a good kitchen, and a helpful couple who run the hotel.

We were completely delighted! The food was super tasty and the breakfast left no wishes unfulfilled. The warm hosts left a very positive impression. The location was impressive. We’ll gladly come back! There was nothing to complain about.
