It was very clean and Susan was a very welcoming host. It would be nice to have a lounge area to sit in as the dining area didn’t really lend itself to this

Very friendly welcome from Susan, the Host. The single bed was large and comfy, with a desk, a handy bedside table and plenty of storage. The drinks station with a large jug of water was a nice touch. The bathroom and shower were a good size. Breakfast was served at my preferred time and to my order, and it came with homemade bread – what a treat. Susan also looked after my very wet walking shoes and made sure they dried. The location is handy for Canterbury East station. The space between the bed and bathroom is a bit narrow. The decor is somewhat faded, but perfectly in line with the price.

The staff at Carena House are very helpful and do their best to assist if you have any problems. It’s not far from the city centre and train station, only half an hour on foot, but for some that might be just too far away.
