The Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane, located in Spring Hill, offers 4.5-star accommodations with a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, and restaurant serving modern à la carte dining. Spacious rooms feature LCD TVs, private balconies with panoramic views of Roma Street Parklands or the city, and wireless internet. The hotel is a 15-minute walk to Suncorp Stadium.

The restaurant was great: food was good, service friendly and efficient. The sliding bathroom door was ridiculous—heavy, hard to slide, and once closed it didn’t fit well, offering no privacy. Not acceptable in an otherwise good hotel.

The facilities are good. The upgrade didn’t justify the cost: it only added a tiny balcony with no table, just standing room. Not value for money. The shower tiles were slippery.

The bedroom and bathroom were very good, and the reception staff were helpful. A lockable safe is the norm these days; our room didn’t have one. There was constant drilling and vibration noise all day. We shouldn’t have been charged the full rate because the main restaurant and swimming pool were not accessible or operational. No hotel manager or assistant manager was available to speak to for the entire stay, as if they were hiding from the many disgruntled guests or had taken a week off to avoid the noise and complaints.
