This is the best place we’ve stayed in South Africa so far. The historic house is gorgeous, and the view from our room was superb. The room was spacious, and to preserve its original charm the owners installed a great shower and toilet in the same space. Host Lisha was outstanding and incredibly helpful. We only wish we’d stayed a bit longer. Breakfast was superb, and the house is ideally located for visiting Addo Elephant Park.

The guesthouse is just a bit outside Kirkwood, in a citrus plantation. Every room is uniquely furnished with sky beds. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sensational, and the dinner was also excellent. The pool was a little dirty, so we didn’t use it even though it was 33 °C. Otherwise the house is cozy and clean, and we felt well taken care of.

A very nice classic B&B with a lovely terrace and historic interior. The nearby Citrus Packhaus offered an interesting tour, and the Daniell Cheetah Project is highly recommended. Breakfast was delicious with very personal service. Everything else was fine, though in winter the bathroom can be a bit cool in the mornings.

I stayed in a 1920 plantation house that was richly furnished; the space and the garden were lovely. Nothing was lacking.
