The setting was beautiful, the dining upscale, beds comfortable, and the attention to detail and tradition was excellent, yet I would have liked a kettle and tea cups in my room.

The restaurant needs improvement: dinner was bland, breakfast was interesting, I waited over 15 minutes to be seated, so I had to find a table and a menu myself. Only six people were in the dining room yet I waited an hour for two eggs and bacon.

The old house had character and history, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant food was great and reasonably priced, but we stayed in a room with two beds; the sheets were amazing but the mattress was worn and uneven, and there were no accessible outlets—at least five lamp fixtures were present but none worked because there was no place to plug them in.
