The room was spacious, and the separate toilet and bath were very clean, which I really liked. However, the check‑in took a long time, and even though I had paid in advance, I was still billed and ran into various other issues.

Because it was off‑season, they upgraded me to a higher‑grade room at the same price, so I had a very comfortable stay. I did feel rushed when the cleaners came before check‑out.

The proprietress and everyone else were wonderfully attentive. The room was clean, the air‑conditioner was set to a nice temperature, and my family of three enjoyed a comfortable time; I’ll definitely return when I go to Kanebayashi again. The only slight drawback was that the shower pressure could have been a bit stronger, but otherwise there were no problems.

The room rate was cheap. The amenities were sparse, the overall facilities were old and dim, the front entrance had an early curfew (21:00) and the morning opening was late (still closed past 6:00), and it wasn’t an auto‑lock.

It was nice that they provided yukata and that the razor was easy to use. Some carpet patches had peeled, and the inner base of the slippers had also come loose.
