“Scarsa accoglienza”
The apartment was very clean, looked new, and was well furnished. The colorful tiles in the bathroom and on the floor made it pleasant. Unfortunately everything else was a let‑down. The apartment is in the historic center, in a ZTL zone, so parking is impossible; you have to go far away, and with luggage that’s not ideal. It’s in a very old building that smells bad and has some unwanted insects right at the entrance. The door always opens via a link, so if the connection is weak you risk being stuck outside. Once inside, it was hard to find the apartment—many doors and no signs. I called the host but he didn’t answer. We eventually found a door with a code and entered with great difficulty. The need for codes to open the apartment door and the room’s door made entry annoying and inconvenient; no key was ever given, and when the code stopped working on the second day we were locked out. Repeated calls to the host, who never showed up and tried to troubleshoot over the phone instead of addressing our discomfort. If not for the neighbors in the adjacent apartment, we would have stayed outside. Little empathy and customer care. The apartment is pretty, but it offers no comfort when you arrive—no water bottle in the fridge or soap in the bathroom (a small sample would have sufficed). We drove 9 hours to Salerno because of the traffic jam and didn’t feel well received. Also, there was a lot of noise at night and early in the morning from the supermarket below, and the pillows were very uncomfortable.
