“They tried to convince me to cancel reservation upon arrival.”

Before I could check in, the front desk and manager tried to convince me to cancel my booking. It was a very unpleasant encounter. They never let me see my room and insisted I cancel, claiming a change in ownership and that I had paid the previous company. The place is called Ocean Blue Lagoon, but it’s listed online as SunSeaSurf. They seemed to avoid paying the commission fee. They lied, saying a full refund would be issued if I canceled, but the booking confirmation proved otherwise, though they promised to sort it out. After I got fed up with their constant pressure and took my belongings to the room, they attempted to move me to a worse room on the ground floor. A few days later, they tried to collect the green tax that I had already paid when booking. Disgusting, greedy behavior. They use the service but refuse to pay for it. DEAR MALDIVES GUESTHOUSE OWNER! IF YOU DON’T WANT TO PAY ’S FEE, SIMPLY REMOVE YOUR GUESTHOUSE FROM THE SITE AND YOU’LL NEVER HAVE TO PAY THEM AGAIN!

Convenient location and the price was reasonable. However, I was asked to cancel, pay in cash, and the room I had booked was not available.

The owner was very friendly, but the room was tiny and smelled damp; the bathroom had noticeable mold stains. The price didn’t justify the condition. Because of the mold smell we had to move out right away, paying for the night even though we didn’t stay, just to be fair.

“The price was good so we were not too upset but no working shower was annoying the room was comfortable.”

The location was good and we got it at a cheap price, but the bathroom smelled and the shower never worked during our stay. Luckily my daughter was in another room so I could use her shower, otherwise it would have been a problem.
