“A nice surprise on a long walk”
The hotel is lovely and set in a beautiful location, and the staff were friendly while the food was great. I loved the father/son approach in the kitchen, and they couldn’t do any more for me during my short stay; beer and food were great and the views lovely. The room is a little tired but clean, and the wifi did not reach the room, meaning I had to use my mobile data during the stay. The electric heated water was a bit quirky but worked ok.

Perfect breakfast, homemade bread, selection of really good quality ingredients and breakfast choice for all. And great butter! Lovely restaurant/breakfast room. Fantastic evening meals too! Really comfy beds. Amazingly good service. I was actually a little bit warm with the duvet, but I suppose that's unusual in the Lake District
