Lovely young man Maddy made us feel so welcome and brewed the best pot of tea we’ve had in Sri Lanka; the view from our room was nice, blankets were cozy, showers were hot, breakfast was good, and the packed breakfast was handy if you leave early; he also arranged an early‑morning ride to the station for us. It’s a bit of a walk from town and can be cold in winter.

The villa is truly spectacular, surrounded by greenery in a beautiful, quiet setting; the property is well cared for and the room was huge, spacious, and comfortable. The bathroom deserves special mention: an amazing shower with an abundance of hot water, almost scalding! It may seem ordinary, but after traveling around Sri Lanka I can say it’s far from expected. Breakfast was perfect, plentiful, and very enjoyable. The real highlight of the stay was Maddy—always smiling, incredibly kind, available 360 degrees, and ready to help with anything. He gives advice, constantly worries that everything goes well, and makes you feel truly welcomed, not just a customer. He is the one who makes the experience special. I absolutely recommend this place, both for the property and especially for the hospitality. The only small point to consider is the road to the property at night. In fact, the location is very convenient: in about five minutes on foot you reach the bus station and the center during the day. At night, however, the last stretch of the road is rather dark and narrow. Nuwara Eliya is a very quiet tourist spot and I didn’t feel the area was dangerous. Simply, traveling alone at night I preferred to use a tuk‑tuk both ways. The cost is minimal, about one euro. With company I probably would have walked the road without worry.

Nothing to say positively; the young boy was nice, but the accommodation was awful—dirty, old, musty—and the breakfast was awful too.
