We couldn’t stay because, as soon as we received the confirmation, a lady called us with very little empathy and in a rush, telling us that the staff had a half‑day off and could not check us in until 15:00.

The rooms were roomy, had everything you need, and were clean. The breakfast area was pretty with white shabby‑chic furniture, and the house itself was tidy. The reception was inside the dining room; they handed us the key and that was it. We parked briefly near the entrance to unpack, and were sternly told that the parking was not there – we knew that, but it was still a hassle. The three ladies at the front desk seemed reluctant to help, looked unkempt, and were not very friendly. I asked for a knife in the evening; the older lady implied that eating in the rooms was not allowed. I booked two nights. The room was mediocre; the faux leather was worn and fell to the floor, the heating was adjustable, and it smelled awful from a fragrance that had stuck to the table. Breakfast was nothing – only pre‑made items and three dry cakes. There were two reheated Gipfli and a packet of rusks, but no butter, cheese, cold cuts, or fruit. My daughter got a bottle of water. The second breakfast was the same, except one extra juice for my daughter. There’s a pit bull terrier around, which might matter to future guests. The location is quite remote, so there’s nothing nearby; going out to eat in the evening is a hassle in autumn.
