“Recommended”
The cottage was cozy, with lovely linen and a warm feel. The manager had already turned on the heating before we got there. Waking up to six beautiful alpacas was a delight.
The place was comfortable, clean, and well‑located, and the staff were friendly; I just wish we had stayed longer.
Karamea is beautiful and the people so very friendly and helpful. Motel is very warm and cosy and seeing the llamas and deer outside the window was very cool. Would absolutely stay again
I spotted alpacas right outside my window, which was simply delightful, and the host Alison was friendly while also respecting privacy.

There was plenty of space and a good kitchen, and I appreciated the bar heater and heat pump—though the heat pump aggravated my asthma. The wool blanket was lovely, the bay window looked nice, and having undercover parking in the rain was a great convenience.
