The hostel feels lovely with kind people and gentle animals. It has everything you need: a kitchen, comfortable seating inside and out, warm water if you need it… and it’s well placed for the bus. Everything in Hiriketiya is walkable, and it’s nice that Dikwella is so close too. We couldn’t ask for more, especially after I left my earbuds and Venera kindly contacted me to say so. Very kind.

I stayed more than a week at the accommodation. Everything you need is there and you quickly make connections because the hostel is very social. There’s a cozy communal “living room” and two pets. In the evenings we always played beach volleyball together and ate.

The vibe, the people, the animals—this hostel tops the list. The environment feels alive, the animals are gorgeous, the owners are fantastic, and the volunteers do an amazing job. I liked everything.

I spent several weeks at Coco Mango Hostel, first in December and then again in May, drawn back by the owners’ generosity and kindness. From the start the place felt welcoming, clean, tidy, and well maintained, with everything working flawlessly, clearly a lot of love goes into keeping it comfortable. The kitchen is a highlight, making it feel like home. The whole team is helpful, friendly, and always available. Dorms are comfortable, have fans, and the mixed dorms upstairs have air conditioning. I also stayed in a private room, and at the end booked the deluxe room, which was incredibly comfortable and had everything I needed and more. And of course Coco, Mango, and Cashew, the hostel’s animals, are the absolute stars, truly running the place and adding to the memorable atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend Coco Mango Hostel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, friendly, and welcoming spot, and I’ll gladly return.

The location is good and the owners are very friendly! We were disappointed because it wasn’t what we were looking for. It’s a fine place, but not for us. What was a pity was that on the last night they decided to invite a DJ for a party. It was fun, but if you’re not expecting it, it’s annoying that you can’t sleep. There was no air‑con, so the room was very hot. That heat and sleeping next to a DJ booth is not ideal. But if you’re a solo traveler looking for a lively vibe, it’s a nice hostel!
