The rooms were new and spotless, but the hotel itself was fine until checkout. Our checkout was at 11:00 a.m., and at about 10:30 a.m. a housekeeping staff member knocked on our door, then knocked again about ten minutes later, and then a third, much more aggressive knock came from an employee named David, who was walking up and down the hallway loudly yelling “HOUSEKEEPING” and knocking on doors. It was still before checkout time. I opened the door and asked why it took three knocks and why the third needed to be so obnoxious. David answered, “This is my first time knocking.” Perhaps it was his first knock personally, but housekeeping had already knocked twice. What bothered me more than the knocking was what happened next. David loudly told me to “have a nice day” and saluted me in a manner that was clearly sarcastic and dismissive. I went downstairs and spoke with the assistant manager about the interaction. While I was speaking with her, David approached us, again loudly said, “Have a nice day, sir,” and saluted me. The assistant manager told him to be quiet. Despite being corrected by his manager, he saluted me yet again and loudly repeated “have a nice day,” as though he were mocking me and dismissing my complaint. The assistant manager handled the situation professionally, and I appreciated that. My complaint is not with her or with the hotel staff generally. It is specifically about David’s behavior. Guests should be able to remain in their rooms until the stated checkout time without feeling that housekeeping is trying to push them out. More importantly, an employee should never mock or antagonize a guest who raises a concern—especially in front of a manager and after being instructed to stop. It was an unnecessarily unpleasant ending to what otherwise would have been a perfectly satisfactory stay

It is conveniently located to restaurants and shopping. And it is conveniently located to the courthouse. There was nothing that I didn’t like

The bed and pillows were comfortable and the towels were good. The staff and housekeepers were very nice, especially one named Eve E who was excellent—she never hesitated to answer our concerns and always greeted us whether we were leaving or returning. The other girls greeted us daily. The location was very good for us because we knew the area. Breakfast was good—the usual eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, potatoes, spinach quiche, or soufflé, oatmeal, and cereal. The juice machine was problematic, but there was water, coffee, tea, milk, and yogurt. Muffins, bagels, English muffins, and sliced bread were available. We had a problem with our room, but the staff remedied it. One room’s A/C wasn’t cooling, so we moved to another room where some outlets didn’t work and would pop out your plug. We were moved again to a room where everything went smoothly. The desk chair in any room should have wheels; it was difficult to move on the rug.

I like this hotel for its cleanliness, its proximity to the shops I use regularly, the sense of safety, and its closeness to Tesla chargers. The hotel is dog friendly, which I really appreciate. I consistently choose this Marriott every month to visit family. I did not like that I specifically booked a room for the advertised rate of $89.99 for 2 queen beds, then BAIT & SWITCH tactics were used when I got the confirmation number. I was actually charged the full price room rate of $144.00 per night plus $14 for parking—very deceitful business practices!
