High Street Hostel, an 18‑plus backpacker haven in central Edinburgh, occupies a historic 1564 building just off the Royal Mile. It offers single beds with bedside safes in shared dorms, a self‑catering kitchen, quiet lounge, and lively party area. Free Wi‑Fi, lockers, and shared baths complement its 5‑minute walk to the railway station and 10‑minute stroll to Edinburgh Castle.

Great location near the main tourist attractions; the accommodation is well‑organized, with a cozy kitchen area, and is clean. My stay was super recommended.

I absolutely loved my stay! The location is perfect, right in the heart of the Old Town and within walking distance of the train station, supermarkets, restaurants, and main attractions. The hostel is comfortable, well-equipped, and has everything you need. The staff is amazing, always friendly and helpful! A special thanks to Valentina from Chile, who made me feel especially welcome with her kindness and hospitality. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

I’m happy to say the hotel’s spot near High Street made walking to every main attraction a breeze, though I did notice a bit of noise.

The place is well‑situated and the staff are friendly, but there’s no elevator, the shared room is pricey, the room itself isn’t pretty or very comfortable, and the bathroom is small.
