The location is convenient in the center, but as I had already warned the manager who chose to worry about whether I’d left the 4 euros of the tourist tax on the nightstand, the blinds wouldn’t close and the room was daylight‑lit from dawn; one of the two beds had a slope that I tried to fill with a pillow but failed, and finally with 15 degrees in Matera (wonderful city) it wasn’t comfortable to sleep with only a sheet, no way to cover up, and no one to ask for help.

The apartment is nice and sits right in the city center, but the check‑in was a mess with too many videos and details. I wasted time because there were four key boxes and no sign of which one to open, and Giovanni didn’t offer much flexibility with guests.

The place was clean, orderly, and in a great spot. Nothing to complain about.
