“Lack of common sense with confirmation”

I was asked to confirm my stay without a deposit, so I messaged them and then again on Zalo after giving them my number. I explained I was traveling from America, would arrive late, and wouldn’t be able to contact them after the initial confirmation. They sent me a second message while I was flying, asking me to confirm again, which I couldn’t do. When I landed at 10 pm and saw the messages, they had already cancelled. I had to scramble for another hotel last minute, and I was very disappointed.

The only good thing was the large bed with pleasant cotton sheets that made sleeping very comfortable. We booked the apartment for New Year's Eve and ended up disappointed. We arrived on the evening of the 31st, there was no hot water, and after speaking with a front‑desk employee, someone started fixing the water supply and even the cold water disappeared. We couldn’t take a cold shower before heading to the New Year’s party. The room didn’t match the photos on Booking; many furniture pieces and finishes were worn, and a huge beetle was on the curtain. Moreover, we were on the first floor with no view, even though I booked this hotel specifically to watch the beautiful January 1st sunrise from the windows. The hotel is under renovation, so the first‑floor floor is very dirty, dusty, etc.

The place was clean and well‑located. However, they never warned you about ongoing construction, and we were woken at 7 am by drilling and hammering. When I asked reception if they could stop it earlier, she said they had no authority to tell the workers to stop. After several complaints, they offered to pay 150,000 each night, which I felt wasn’t enough for the lost sleep. They also don’t have a door between the ground and first floors, so I had to pray for a higher room.

The location was good. When I booked, the hotel listed pets for free, but five days before arrival I notified them I’d be coming with a small dog; they didn’t reply until the last day, when I could no longer cancel without a penalty. They told me I’d have to pay 200,000 VND per day for the dog, and I had no choice but to accept. By then they had removed the pet‑friendly notice and insisted they normally don’t accept dogs, but would make an exception if I paid. I was left in that position without an apology. Later I saw several dogs still staying there, which was very unpleasant. The room was also small and windowless.
