Ilo and Dan were super friendly, the spot felt quiet and gave good bang for the buck, plus there were plenty of shared basics. The only thing that bugged me was the creaky pavement outside – you can hear every step, but then again it’s a 400‑year‑old building.

I booked there for two winters in a row and each time the price was unbeatable for Zurich. The old Swiss house by the lake has that charming vibe and there are loads of blue‑zone spots nearby. Every room has its own style, which I liked, though the desk in the third room looks cool but is awkward to work on with a laptop.

The place was très bien overall, but I wish there was a small table near the kitchen where you could sit and eat.
