Amritara Hidden Land, Gangtok - 900 mts from MG Marg

The hotel is small with neat, clean rooms and a good ambience, and there’s reading material on all floors if guests want it. However, we booked the most expensive suite, yet the hotel had no AC even though the site listed it as AC rooms; the sitting room had a fan but the bedroom didn’t. The pricier room also had no view, looked out onto the street, and the windows couldn’t be opened because of privacy concerns. The distance from the hotel to the main market was listed as about a KM, but it turned out to be much farther.

“Good”

The rooms were comfortable, well decorated, and had a heritage feel, and the staff were super nice. Breakfast was not good, the location was slightly away from MG road, and the price seemed high for what was offered. The glass bathroom with a curtain isn’t light‑proof, so when the lights are on at night, the whole room gets unnecessary illumination through the curtains.

The painting and staff, especially Joshina, were good, but there was no light along the passage.

“Highly recommended stay in Gangtok with great staff”

I was blown away by the gorgeous room and the incredible staff at this hotel. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially when we celebrated our anniversary - the room decorations were truly amazing. The staff became like friends by the end of our stay, and they even arranged drivers for our excursions. Highly recommended, but be prepared for an unforgettable experience.
