We ended up at the wrong address at first, but after calling the front desk they actually came out and walked us to the guesthouse. The place itself is pleasant, though you have to climb a set of stairs. The staff even lugged our suitcase up for us, which was a huge help.

The employees were really friendly and the service was spot‑on, plus the spot is perfect if you want to explore the old town. The only downside is that the pictures show a lounge that isn’t there anymore – they’ve turned that space into a restaurant. Updating the photos would avoid the confusion.

The welcome was warm; two kind hostesses helped us haul our bags up to the second floor since there’s no lift. The shower worked great and felt comfortable. Unfortunately the mattress sat directly on the floor, making it a hassle to get up, and a small step between the bed and bathroom felt a bit unsafe at night. When we pointed out the paper towels, staff quickly swapped them for proper ones and changed them daily, which we really appreciated.

Breakfast isn’t elaborate, but the hot noodle soup bowl (mian xian) was enough to fill us up. Staff greeted us with tea and fruit, and the owner organized an evening campfire where everyone sang together. It gave the place a cozy, community feel.

We stayed here last week with friends and couldn’t find anything to complain about—service started before we even arrived, with the owners helping us plan day trips and even securing a hotel in Deqin that accepts foreigners via WeChat. They met us at the airport, handled our luggage, and the daily breakfast of mixian paired with pu’er tea felt like chatting with old friends. Evening bonfire concerts were a highlight, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious for the price.
