The spot was perfect because we didn’t want to stay right in Edinburgh; we could walk easily to both the new and old towns. The train station and taxi ramp were close by, and there were plenty of good restaurants and pubs nearby. I liked the building’s style, but the room faced the back courtyard, so we saw other buildings looking into ours instead of a bay window with a street view at the front of the property.

The staff was very courteous. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was great – even gluten‑free was no problem. Many stairs – no elevator, but still charming!

The room was spacious enough for four people, clean, and well kept. The staff were lovely and approachable, but the WIFI was poor.

The place is traditional, clean, and comfortable. We had to climb up to the third floor with a heavy suitcase, and there was no elevator or any assistance offered.
