The hotel sits a bit off‑path, but a quick Grab scooter ride to the center costs just $.90 Canadian, so I enjoy the quiet, forested area with flowering trees. The room was spotless, the bed super comfy, the shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water, and the internet was mostly reliable. The staff were so friendly that a groundskeeper saw me meditating in the gazebo and handed me a fresh coconut, cut, opened, and topped with a straw for fresh coconut milk. I can’t think of any shortcomings.

The rooms are large, but the resort’s advertising was misleading: I booked for a pool, yet none is present; I was told I could use a nearby pool 10 minutes away, which isn’t what a resort should offer. I paid extra for a deluxe room with a garden view, but the only view is a bush, and a noisy local bar on the other side means no quiet at night. The room also lacks a desk as advertised. I raised the pool issue and received no compensation, only an option to pay double to move elsewhere—definitely not good enough.
