The rooms are compact but packed with thoughtful details. We enjoyed a 3‑night stay; the bed was very comfortable. The room can heat up, so opening the kitchen windows during the day helps. Birdlife was delightful, though the stream had little water. Overall, we were satisfied. The bar fridge is too small and its door shelf is unusable, and a fan would help when rooms heat up on sunny days.

A charming, secluded spot with an excellent bathroom and great bed. The kitchen area is affordable.

It was very cute and comfortable with lovely views; we appreciated the fluffy dressing gowns, the bathroom was lovely, and the shower was spacious—perfect for a two‑night stay in Tākaka. The mice running across the plastic roof at night were noisy and echoed in the room.
