The Galata Hotel Istanbul

“buena estancia”

The breakfast could have had more variety for a hotel of this category, although the quality was good. The breakfast was a bit poor.

“Beautifully renovated old bank provides history in a picturesque neighborhood near Galata”

The location was amazing—a little hidden historical and elegant, nostalgic quarter on the former bank street. The old hammam that’s part of the premises was visually stunning, and we enjoyed watching the pigeons bathing on the hammam roof in the mornings. Complementary cucumber and mint water was a nice touch! The hotel was very atmospheric.

“Acceptable but expensive”

Historic building, good location but on narrow street. Large breakfast but mediocre quality. Overall expensive

“Great location, but unfortunately the communication and handling of several arrangements made our stay much more stressf”

The spot was spot-on for Istanbul, close to Galata Tower and packed with restaurants, cafés, and attractions within walking distance. However, our stay fell short: the rooms and reception had multiple problems, and talking to the hotel was a struggle. Arrangements we’d confirmed beforehand—like the extra bed, wedding cake, and tea service—were mishandled, and we couldn’t secure rooms for family members even after discussing it with the staff. Too many misunderstandings and hassles made the price feel unjustified.
