“AVOID AT ALL COSTS, SCAMMERS.”

DO NOT STAY HERE. Arrived in Amsterdam and was told by the property that they’d need to find a hotel for one night and issue a refund because of a leak and they couldn’t check me in; I had to wait until my deposit returned in a couple of weeks after the stay, but I could check in tomorrow. Tomorrow came and they called me again to stay, it was still not fixed and a full refund would be issued for the stay plus a coupon as an apology. Since then it’s been impossible to contact the property; they’ve only issued me a refund for one night which didn’t come through until my final day in Amsterdam. I had bookings on credit cards just so I could afford somewhere else to stay during my trip and now this company has over £500 of my money with no contact. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.

We could stay in a beautiful historic house (18th century) in the center of Amsterdam. The rooms weren’t huge, but that’s what they were meant to be in a historic building. Steep stairs, roof beams, windows with mullions. Everything was great. The deposit and deduction system was complicated, but fortunately I didn’t have to pay anything extra.

This spot is top‑rated, but the stairs are extremely steep—so steep that they’re not for everyone. The 500 Euro deposit felt overly harsh, and getting it back was a hassle, though it finally worked out. All in all, it’s not suitable for beginners; staying at a hotel would be wiser.

The location is great, though it can feel a bit cold.

“wir sind jetzt krank und werden sicher nie wieder kommen”

The heating was broken and we even found a mouse in the room. The heaters kept shutting off repeatedly, yet the staff insisted they were functioning. Very disappointing.
