Barclay House Bed and Breakfast

“Perfect location to stay in a very beautiful city. 10/10.”

Conveniently within walking distance of downtown and English Bay, surrounded by many restaurants, the 120‑year‑old house sat on a leafy street lined with trees. Breakfasts were beautiful and varied each morning, and my gluten‑free needs were handled superbly. The bedroom was spacious and well‑equipped for travelers. The steep steps could be tough with heavy luggage, though that’s not a major issue because there are ground‑level rooms available.

Breakfast was tasty, and the chef was very accommodating. We wanted to stay in the city for a few hours after check‑out, and the owner let us park for free for as long as we needed—a huge perk. The location was highly walkable, with many restaurants nearby and several e‑bike rentals just a few blocks away. The floors could have been cleaner, and there was water damage around the mini‑fridge area, but overall we enjoyed the space.

“A wonderful stay in an incredible city!”

A very friendly host welcomed us. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and it was very quiet at night. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Free parking was a boon in an otherwise congested area. The location was perfect, within walking distance of downtown, Stanley Park, and the English Bay beaches and restaurants. There were very few electrical outlets, but we managed; only one chair and a second bed were provided. It’s an old restored house, so that’s expected.

The spot is spot-on for exploring Vancouver, and the old‑style house on a pretty street makes for a super cozy bed.
