“Could be a lovely hotel, in serious need of some maintenance. Facilities uncomfortable and dirty. Lovely friendly family”
The central location and family‑run vibe were nice, but the place wasn’t clean at all. Housekeeping was poor: bins weren’t emptied, and we had to ask for bin bags. The air‑con had to be cleaned because of a horrible smell from dirty filters. The pool was filthy, unusable, and a hazard for kids; thick green on the bottom with old toys and leaves. It wasn’t maintained—nature was fine, but it was filthy. The bed was so uncomfortable we ended up on painkillers; the mattresses were old and a bit uncomfortable. The end‑of‑season cleaning was appreciated, but other hotels didn’t have the same neglect. The owners clearly don’t want to spend money, and the hotel lags behind others. The grounds and design are stunning, but the balcony furniture is falling apart, all old and broken. There were no ceramic bowls—just scratched plastic ones—and rusty cutlery. The sewage smell from the drains was horrific; it hit us like a wave every time we re‑entered the room. We tolerated it because there weren’t bed bugs, but we spent a lot of money avoiding the hotel and the room. The hotel feels Greek/basic and just grim. Sorry Vanessa, but we stayed twenty years ago and there’s been no change. It’s a shame to see the hotel decline like this, far behind the times.
