The location is great for hiking, almost right on “Malerweg” and close to scenic nature spots. The place felt a bit worn but clean and tidy, and it would be nice if dinner could be bought on site.

Breakfast was varied and very generous, with everything always available – different breads and rolls, sausages, cheese, scrambled or boiled eggs, yogurt, a range of fruit, and many drinks. From the breakfast room you could see the mountains. The room was excellent and the location fantastic. Daily, which is unusual, the rooms were cleaned! The hotel is a 10‑minute walk to the bus that takes you to Bad Schandau, from where you could catch a bus or train to places like Pirna, Schönau, Königstein, and even Hřensko (Czech Republic). Overall a perfect stay.

The charming surroundings were nice. The breakfast did not meet our expectations; we had been there a few years ago and the breakfast was much better then. They hardly restocked, and those who arrived late were unlucky.
