“Alojamiento inseguro y sucio”

I didn’t get the hostel vibe I expected; it felt more like a long‑term rental for people in various personal or work situations than a tourist hostel. My experience was awful, mainly because of the lack of attention, cleanliness and security. From the moment I arrived, Ruth, the manager, was unfriendly and unhelpful. The access messages were packed with information, promotions and discounts, and when I ran into trouble with the codes, her reply was harsh, blaming me for not reading the messages properly. The common areas were dirty, there were defects such as a broken bathroom latch, and on one occasion there was no toilet paper. They advertised a TV, but there was none during my stay. The biggest concern was safety and access control: we saw people who apparently weren’t guests, even someone sleeping in a hallway, and a guest sharing a bed with an outsider. During the stay, a serious incident occurred when a guest, as we could confirm and as he told other guests, threatened to harm himself and others. We had to call the police, and he was later taken to the hospital by ambulance. After that, they changed the entry code without informing us; I could only get in because another guest told me. There was no hotel staff present at any time. The cleaning staff, who were very friendly, only came in the morning for a short while. No one was on duty the rest of the day or night to address any problems or incidents. After 8 nights, I didn’t feel safe or well attended. It wasn’t the hostel experience I expected, and I would not stay here again.

“Great place to relax and unwind.”

The location was fantastic—close to the beaches—and the hostel was spotless and comfortable. It offered great value for money, so I definitely plan to return. I had originally intended to stay for 1 or 2 nights but ended up extending my stay because I was so pleased with everything. I also loved the pool; it was perfect after a day of sightseeing.
