I loved the location and the food was great.

“Good central location. Disappointing room compared to other Green King hotels visited”

The central spot was convenient, near shops and restaurants, but unlike other Green King hotels I’d stayed at, the décor was bland, the room tiny, and it didn’t match the value of newer stays that offered nicer rooms and often breakfast.

“Great location, pot luck on the rooms.”

The location was great and I could get into the room anytime at night, but the room I booked this time (room1) felt dated, the bathroom was in poor shape, and a staff member knocked on my door while I was showering to explain a leak that was coming down the stairs in the bar area—likely the bath wasn’t sealed properly or the plaster was missing around it.

“Good, would stay again”

The hotel was friendly, the room was clean and the bed comfy, but the bathroom needs an upgrade and the shower took a while to heat.

“We enjoyed a comfortable stay in an inn of character.”

Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Restaurant was comfortable with a calm, quiet atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. Stairs to room were difficult for us to climb as we don't have the best mobility. I appreciate that in such an old property with character it is difficult to change such features. More than a night stay would be tiring!!
