The location near the river was lovely and quiet, the town and its people were very helpful. The room was small but had everything you need, and the shower was hot. The front door squeaked, the bed was a bit hard, otherwise nothing.

The location is great, and from here I could easily head to Hobart, Launceston, and Cradle Mountain. The owner was very friendly and sent me check‑in details by email, so I felt safe staying there. No complaints.

Ross is a lovely little place that deserves more promotion. The motel sits in a very central, handy spot. I was greeted warmly by the staff upon arrival, and the former manager was very helpful; the new manager seemed nice and I wish her well. The night I stayed was bitterly cold, and the room felt very cold even with the heating on. I expected more of the river for a “riverview” stay, but that’s fine.
