Located in Kyiv's scenic Hydropark, Hotel Fregat is a 4-minute walk from the Dnieper River and 200 meters from Hydropark Metro Station. The hotel features a sauna, boat rentals, and Fregat Restaurant serving Ukrainian and European cuisine. Air-conditioned rooms with rustic wooden interiors, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms are available, some with river views.

The air conditioner in the room didn’t work.

The spot is top‑tier, right by the metro and straight on the riverbank. Keep in mind that the metro doesn’t run to the island during a flight‑alert, so you’ll have to take a taxi, though traffic on the bridge can be a hassle. The place is clean, the food tasty, and the staff pleasant. Check‑in was a bit quicker than expected, for which I’m very grateful! On the downside, the metro line runs right next to the hotel, so the noise can be mistaken for a train, and there’s a smell of water in the shower.

I liked the location and the room was spacious. The hotel doesn’t offer ironing, the shower in the room barely holds the wall, and there’s no shelf in the bathroom. The food is average, and some desserts are missing from the menu. Also, the hotel never replies to messages on booking, so keep that in mind if you need to tweak something.

The view from the window was wonderful, and the staff were fantastic. There were water issues, but when I brought it to the staff’s attention, they fixed the problem.
