The place was great and even let us park a motorcycle in the corridor overnight; it was quiet and empty at that time. I didn’t understand why the kitchen had those Soviet‑era slogans in every corner.

“Edullinen ja toimiva hostelli Valgan keskustassa”

The hostel was in a converted office building in the center of Valga. The lower floor was used for offices, the upper floor had rooms and a kitchen. Rooms were clean and tidy, with a toilet and washbasin on the corridor. The beds were comfortable and all essentials were present, and the kitchen was spacious. The only complaint was that the room had been turned directly from office use into a bedroom; a bit more décor would have made it feel cozier.

“ok short stay”

Parking was right in front of the building and the room had plenty of space. We had the whole place to ourselves, so it was very peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped. In the Baltic region it seems there’s a recurring issue: we never saw a lamp or even a wall socket by the bed, the bathroom could have been better, and the Wi‑Fi was practically non‑existent – the router’s placement was problematic. Another issue was the glass in the doors; because there was an emergency exit light in front of our door, I could see the light all night.

Everything was very clean and the interior looked nice. The furniture was comfortable and high quality, the kitchen was excellent and fully equipped. A big plus was the TV, which let us watch anything we wanted. We were also assigned a room on the second floor, which was a huge advantage because it was much more comfortable and cozy than the first floor. The large water dispenser was a pleasant surprise – just press a button and water pours out, incredibly convenient. Additionally, there were many amenities: toilet paper, soap, shower gel, and even a hair dryer everywhere (no shampoo). The ping‑pong table was available, and it was quiet and calm in the evenings. I’d like to highlight the owner – a very pleasant, good, and cheerful person! The internet was normal: it’s enough for regular use. If someone needs to work fully on a laptop during a trip, some downloads might not be instant, but overall the speed is satisfactory. The only thing that could be criticized is the view from the window: construction is still ongoing nearby, the area is still being developed, so there isn’t a beautiful view or green plants yet.
