“昔ながらの温泉宿。”
The bed was comfortable, the indoor baths and the circular open‑air onsen, the herbal‑medicine bath, the Japanese‑style breakfast, and the drink corner with tables and chairs were all wonderful, as were the paintings on the walls, the table‑tennis and games, plus the kettle and stove in the room. The only drawbacks were that the hangers were insufficient for our suits and coats, the hotel is quite a distance from the station, and although there are a fair number of convenience stores and shops nearby, they’re not right at the doorstep.
The staff were courteous and I often saw them chatting with regulars, which made the spot feel welcoming; there are paid services besides the on‑site hot spring and a coin‑laundry that helped keep my travel wardrobe light. However, the dust gathering in the gaps under the bed was noticeable, and the bathroom in my room had a strong odor.
The room felt clean, the bath used natural hot‑spring water, and the hearty breakfast in the morning was tasty and gave good value; I found nothing to complain about.

The hotel's onsen facilities were really impressive, and I was happy to catch a show at the theater. However, one thing that was a bit of a letdown was the inconsistent air conditioning in the hallways - it seemed to be working fine one minute and then suddenly stop the next.
