The place was clean and affordable, but I wanted to use the sauna and didn’t notice the sign on the first floor, so I kept thinking I could get to the large bath from there and couldn’t find it; after leaving the bath I looked under the window in my room and realized it was a separate building. I’d definitely want to try it next time, though maybe it was my oversight.

The ocean view was great, but the staff were all foreigners and sometimes we couldn't get what we needed.

Breakfast and dinner were good, and I loved the onsen. No complaints.

It’s a bit far from Kumano station, but you can catch a local bus or walk the 2 kilometers through a special pedestrian tunnel; the hotel sits very close to the Onigajo rocks, so it was convenient when I visited them twice, and the seaside view from the hotel was lovely. Some flying insects slipped in through a small gap in the window even though it was closed all the time.
