It was more or less okay. The shower was extremely small, there was a strong smell of smoke from neighboring rooms, the location was an issue, the heating was broken, and it felt very cold at night.

The spot is great for folks wrapping up a walk along Hardrian's Wall at Wallsend, and the bus stop is right next door. The hosts warned me it might get noisy, but the bar’s crowd calmed down around mid‑evening. The single room felt cozy and was nicely decorated. I wanted to stash my rucksack before heading up to Segedunum, hoping the hotel would be obvious from the footpath, but it’s actually tucked away in a largely industrial area. I had to ask for towels and for help shutting one of the bedroom windows.

The place sits in a good spot, the staff are friendly and the room is comfortable. The shower temperature was a bit temperamental, but that was manageable.
