We got in after midnight and the reception staff were helpful with our late arrival; they let us pick from the available rooms and the room had air conditioning. We stayed just one night, and although the room was very basic, it was sufficient for a couple. We chose the quieter room, but road noise still persisted; bring earplugs if you need a proper sleep.

The air conditioning worked well and the room and bathroom were clean. A few small ants appeared on the bed at night, but they vanished after spraying an anti‑insect repellent.

The basic rooms were close to Plaza de Armas, the main square in Iquitos. Max, the host, was very helpful and let me pick a cooler first‑floor room over a warmer second‑floor one. The rooms were sparse, but the linen, sheets, and soap were clean. Water pressure was decent, and the air conditioning was a relief in the tropical heat. Max gave plenty of food and shopping recommendations before I headed out to the jungle. Nothing else was an issue.

The staff were very welcoming, but the bedding was only average quality, the paint was faded, there were a lot of insects, and overall cleanliness was mediocre.
