The outdoor area was great, especially the large kitchen and the outdoor shower. An AC would be appreciated because the rooms get extremely hot.

Vishnu, the manager, was very attentive to our initial needs and is a tuk‑tuk driver, so she could take us wherever we wanted, though Pickme was often cheaper. The place is modern with everything you need, very outdoor‑style with a kitchen and a second bathroom both outdoors, which worked well because they were well shaded. The beds were comfortable and a real relief! The location is good, 10 minutes’ walk to the nearest beach and other beaches are just a short tuk‑tuk ride away. The town has many eateries, but only a few are within walking distance. The owners are building another home next to the cottage, so it wasn’t as quiet as it could have been, but the noise was kept to a minimum after we arrived. The road up to the cottage entrance was not accessible, making it harder to bring luggage inside because it was partly uphill and uneven. The location is good but tricky to navigate at first; better directions and a local number to call or WhatsApp are needed! There were no Christmas decorations, which would have added to the season. There is also only one mirror in the whole house, which is not enough.

The accommodation was beautifully made and the location is great. You’re right in the middle of nature and can walk to various restaurants and beaches. Communication was straightforward and very friendly. Vishmi, our local contact, was incredibly helpful and very nice. Unfortunately, the place wasn’t properly clean (many cobwebs, dead insects on the mosquito net, dirt on the walls, etc.), and the linens and kitchen equipment were also quite dirty. That was a shame, because the house itself is gorgeous.

The villa was the highlight of our Sri Lanka trip; it felt like a dream. Modern yet simple, it was comfortable and the terrace with a kitchen and a stunning outdoor shower was spotless. Being surrounded by nature made the experience even better, and Lucy, the host, was super nice and helpful. Thank you!
