This hostel is really nice and small. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathrooms are clean, the rooms are tidy, and the wifi works well. Because they also run a surf school and many activities are handled by volunteers (shout out to Margaux, great job), you'll likely meet a lot of enthusiastic surfers, which is awesome! Highly recommended for a stay in Huanchaco.

The vibe was chill, exactly what I was looking for. The kitchen is handy for grabbing food from the nearby market and cooking whatever you like. The dorm (just one bunk bed) is quite spacious and comfortable. Only one of the two showers has hot water (and the pressure isn’t great). There’s just one key per room, which isn’t convenient for the dorm. The key set includes the main door and the room door. I only had to use the key once when no one was at the hostel to open the door, so that’s fine. I don’t understand the idea of a single key if you don’t do the same thing as the other person in the dorm. The security camera makes you feel watched all the time. I saw it in action once: it was the volunteer’s off day (so potentially no one was working at the hostel). A couple arrived. The camera “started talking”, meaning the owner did a remote check‑in (only in Spanish) via the camera. Very strange feeling.
