I was happy with the breakfast, and the location was close to where we visited. I liked everything, though a small dressing table would have been nice.

It was perfect for a wedding at Blake Hall; the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the value was good, and the cooked breakfast was lovely. However, we had two rooms that were very basic and could use a vanity table, the mattresses might need upgrading, the pub closed during the day except on weekends (this wasn’t made clear), and the breakfast was continental with an extra charge for cooked options (also not made clear).

The separate block next to the pub was easy to reach, and the shower was fantastic; we stayed in a twin room and were surprised to find a TV. The breakfast was probably one of the best I’ve had, offering fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast, and a cooked option for a small extra fee, giving excellent value. The bedding felt a bit old‑fashioned; a quilt would have been preferable to the blanket and sheet.
