The location was good for work and parking was free. The accommodation felt very dated, the breakfast was bland and unremarkable, and there was no service. No one was around, and the coffee was lukewarm.

Nothing matched the description at all. When we arrived, the reception was already closed even though it was within opening hours, and the listed phone number didn’t answer. We wandered for almost two hours before getting in. The police were on the way (at least they were helpful, unlike the accommodation). As soon as I mentioned we couldn’t get into the hotel, everyone nearby knew what was going on. The restaurant was also closed, even though the notice said it should be open (they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and we were there on those days). Staff spoke neither English nor German. We requested rooms close together, but they were placed as far apart as possible. My room had a pipe smell. The cleaner entered the bathroom in the morning and, while I was on the toilet, said something in a Slavic language. At check‑out we couldn’t communicate with reception and had to find a Russian interpreter because they tried to charge us again. Many said the hotel was cold (I didn’t feel warm but didn’t get hurt). If you go late (we went after 8 am) there’s hardly any breakfast, and we couldn’t get them to add it. We saw a sign on the hallway that the staff are currently learning German (in Germany!).

A very nice old hotel. The rooms overlook the courtyard, and the old oval windows are lovely.

The room was large and easy to find in the center, with good bike storage and a decent breakfast. The payment was taken a month in advance, staff didn’t speak German well, and everything seemed problematic, but we managed in the end. There was no working Wi‑Fi in the room.

The hotel is in the city center, has parking, and the rooms are spacious, though the bathroom is very small. The breakfast was quite limited.
