I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Istana in Darjeeling. We booked the Atic room and the breathtaking mountain views made every morning magical. Staff members Anima, Bhawna, and Sarswati were warm, courteous, and always ready to help, making us feel truly welcome. The food was fresh, delicious, and surpassed our expectations. A perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and stunning scenery—highly recommended!

The view is nice, though not from the direction of the Kachenjung area; you can see that view from the rooftop terrace, not from the room. It was freezing, no separate heater, and hot water rarely came out. We went there with the family and the kids caught a cold and a fever because of the chill. The restaurant was awful – only about 20 % of the menu items were actually available. When we asked for a taxi, they said it wouldn’t be possible until after 9 pm, so we walked down and caught one ourselves.

Everything was excellent, but the bed mattress needs to be replaced.

The place was clean and tidy, the vegetarian and Jain food was the best, and every staff member was exceptional, especially Jugal.
