The place is lovely with a perfect location, the meals were good, and the room offered a great view, but the staff were unsympathetic and slow to fix a renovation issue we hadn’t been warned about; we tolerated daytime noise and spent most of the day outside, yet at 5 pm we were confronted with a loud extractor fan at a stairwell entrance very close to our room, whose noise was unbearable even with the door closed and whose toxic fumes seeped into our room through the gap under the door; we told the desk multiple times over the next few hours with little effect and very little apology, and it wasn’t resolved until close to 9 pm after my husband went down to the front desk again; upon checking out the next morning we were asked if we enjoyed our stay and we explained how it was marred by that situation, and the staff gave a mumbled apology and that was it—at the very least something more heartfelt, or perhaps a complimentary breakfast, would have been appropriate.

The room was a bit dated, had a slightly musty smell, and there was visible water damage on the ceiling, but overall it wasn’t bad for a single night.

It was a beautiful place to stay and relax; the beds were extremely comfortable, the place was spotless with plenty of spots to sit by the fireplace or outside by the fire pit, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks were great; a short walk brought us to town where there were many cute shops and restaurants, so I’d definitely stay there again. We did know the place was still undergoing some renovation work when we booked, and while it didn’t bother us, some people might find it annoying.

It sits atop a mountain, the pool and hot tub are great, and the renovations are also impressive, but I had to leave.
