“Very missleading listing would not recommend”
The spot was spot on, just a stone’s throw from all the main attractions. I messaged the place a day before to see if I needed to check in early, and they said no, everything would be ready when I arrived. When we got there we pressed the button and were let in the first door, but then we had to choose left or right through some locked gates that we had no code for, and nobody came down the stairs to meet us. We waited there for about 30 minutes trying to reach the accommodation by phone, but the number connected to the old owner who couldn’t help and sent me the new owners number after I explained we had no other contact details. I called the new number, no answer, then got a text from the same number asking me to confirm my name, which I did, and to say I was downstairs. I replied yes, and they said they would open the gate, then gave me the instructions that should have been sent before arrival. We climbed three flights of stairs to the top floor where the door to the accommodation was and were greeted by someone behind a large desk in the main shared living area. We paid for the accommodation and were given our key, then received a message with all the codes for the doors. When we entered the room we were honestly shocked: the room was very small, the bed was a cheap metal frame with two rock‑hard single mattresses on it, no headboard—just the wall—and one pillow each. The bathroom was no better; it was dated, the shower was tiny, paint was peeling off the window in the shower, the main sink didn’t have a plug‑in, and there was no mat, so it was very slippery when wet.
