“Fantastisch verblijf dicht bij Udawalawe NP”

We had a fantastic stay not far from Udawalawe NP. On arrival we joined the owner for a boat safari, and on the way back our sons rode on his scooter through the rice fields—an amazing experience for them. We ate deliciously, especially the fresh jumbo prawns, which I highly recommend! The next day we went on a jeep safari with a great driver who knew all the big and small animals in Udawalawe park. Nearby, families could visit elephants without disturbing them and there were few other jeeps around. Overall a lovely stay with a great pool, and people who truly care about their guests and nature.

“Great accommodation!!”

The accommodation is run by a mother‑son duo who are incredibly warm, helpful, and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the start. It’s uniquely situated close to the national park. Both breakfast and dinner were tasty and authentic, and we would gladly return and recommend this special place without reservation.

I had one of the best stays in Sri Lanka; the people were the best. The rooms were huge and spotless. Sri Lanka Mama was an angel.

The lodge sits right next to the entrance of Udawalawe National Park, and it really feels like the owners care about each guest and are very engaging. You can truly sense the “home” vibe. The pets were adorable but would often get too close while eating; Janik was quick to help with that.

“Amba Kola is amazing!”

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Amba Kola. The family was very welcoming and went above and beyond to make our visit amazing. They organized our safari and we ate the best Sri Lankan home‑cooked food.
