“Lovely stay in a beautiful jungle setting”

Spotlessly clean, a huge room with a fully stocked kitchen, a great shower, and an ultra‑comfortable bed. I also enjoyed the outdoor patio where you could sit and hear the jungle, including howler monkeys in the morning. The pool was nice, with many birds and even bats flying by, and on the last day we spotted a local sloth! The area is gorgeous with plenty to see and do nearby. We liked walking to and from town and all the wildlife on the way, but it can feel far for some—15‑20 minutes depending on the destination. If you don’t have a car, taxis and tuk‑tuks are pricey, so renting a bike, scooter or ATV is a better way to reach places like Punta Uva or Cahuita.

The facilities were solid and the staff super friendly. The pool was lovely, surrounded by greenery and a lot of animals in and around the park/hotel. The room was spacious with a kitchen and a sitting area outside. The air conditioning worked well. It’s quiet on the edge of Puerto Viejo. The shower had a bit of weak water pressure.

The outdoor pool was clean after being refreshed. The staff were friendly and gave us the information about Puerto Viejo that we had received earlier. The hotel manager showed us the popular sloths on the property. The rooms and the facilities are very clean. The kitchen is clean and well equipped. The pool was only cleaned or chlorinated after we arrived. Our toaster worked at only 50 % and after reporting it nothing was done. The lighting in the outdoor kitchen also only worked at 50 %; a light‑test should be part of a daily check. A small door should be installed at the entrance to the apartments because roaming animals defecate on the tiles, which is not pleasant in the morning. The outdoor sofa and the cushions, at least in our apartment, were unusable. The plastic mattress and the plastic pillows were just dirty and stale, so no one sits on them.
